A Lego Star Wars Work of Art: The Star Wars Mon Calamari Cruiser
Lego has remained an internationally popular toy set, as their innovations have remained strong and unmatched over the years. The Lego building sets provide for the practice of one’s imagination, so much so that even a set with a random array of bricks can still manage to call on hours of building fun.
And yet Lego continues on expanding its range of products by creating a wide selection of themes to choose from, and by partnering with already popular franchise, such as Star Wars, Batman, and Indiana Jones. And with their latest Star Wars set, the Star Wars Mon Calamari Cruiser, they have outdone themselves once again.
To call this set a simple work of art is a major understatement. Yes, the usual beauty of any Lego set is worth complimenting as a work of art, but even the Star Wars Mon Calamari Cruiser surpasses the attention to detail and the overall design that was spent on other Lego Star Wars set. This new set was rightfully voted on by Lego and Star Wars fan, alike, to celebrate the 10 years of partnership shared by Lego and the Star Wars franchise.
The Star Wars Mon Calamari Cruiser set comes with enough pieces to assemble a complete Mon Calamari Cruiser and 6 never before seen mini figures of key Star Wars characters.
For small kids, this set is a further addition to their exercise of their imagination and concentration. For them, the work of art lies not in what the booklets say the pieces can create, but on how they can deal with the pieces to show what they can create.
For older kids, Star Wars fanatics, and Lego collectors, however, assembling the pieces just as they were meant to be assembled is the ultimate work of art: they recognize all the hard work that came into the design and details of the entire set. The Mon Calamari cruisers, as made popular by the Star Wars series is a noble thing to behold, and being able to capture that using Lego bricks is nobler.
The Mon Calamari cruiser is one set that can be considered an art in ways more than one. It is a limited edition set, which means that the art it offers won’t probably stay too long in the shelves.
